About this event

Born in Korea and adopted as an infant, Lee Herrick has been a professor for 30 years and currently serves as California Poet Laureate. Herrick's main influences have been family, poets and writers, musicians, and people who overcome trauma or obstacles. His adoption and time as California Poet Laureate have granted him many revelations: the power of poetry and the imagination, how poetry can be a liberating force in our lives, and the vastness and beauty of California's diversity. Herrick believes poetry is for people of all ages and backgrounds, and encourages one to live a life with purpose, openness, and joy.
