About this event
Joy needs to be taken seriously. Through extensive study of Black student life, Tichavakunda turned the sociology of race and higher education on its head by focusing on joy. Drawing upon his research exploring the sociology of joy and creating life-affirming spaces, Tichavakunda will discuss the imperative and practice of cultivating spaces of joy in higher education.
