Get to know your sewing machine Beginner Workshop with Monica

About this event

A hands-on beginner class for people who want to understand their machine and actually enjoy sewing — aimed at people new to sewing, people with a new or gifted machine, people who’ve felt stuck, and people returning after a long break. Covers machine parts, threading and bobbin winding; sewing straight lines, shapes, and pivot corners; adjusting tension and stitch length; sewing and backstitching a seam; and hand sewing. Taught by Monica Carreon, founder of Heart and Sew Clothing. No prior experience or machine needed — all materials and equipment are provided, and participants leave with a finished beginner project. Ages 7 and up; children under 15 must stay with an adult. 2.5–3 hours, in person, free parking. Refunds available up to 5 days before the event.
