COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Redlands Conservancy is collecting gently used and new items to support public programs at Historic Asistencia. Donations are accepted on Saturdays from Jan. 10 to Feb. 28 between noon and 3 p.m.—the White Elephant Sale will occur in early and mid-March to fund local preservation efforts.  CityNewsGroup
  • The Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley is hosting Waggin’ Wednesday, a pet-friendly fundraiser at the Inland Empire 66ers game on Wednesday, April 8 at 6:35 p.m. Tickets bought online help fund spay/neuter and education programs for local animals + support animal welfare.  San Bernardino City News Group
  • Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino completed its 45th year of operation on Feb. 10 and noted rising food insecurity in the Inland Empire. CULTURE NEWS

  • San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra launches its 97th season on Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. at the historic California Theatre — starting with 'American Voices: Lift Every Voice and Sing!' — as Maestro Anthony Parnther, who signed a three-year contract and donated $100,000, prepares five concerts celebrating American composers.  San Bernardino City News Group
  • South Colton Diversity Committee, with support from the County Supervisors Office, will host heritage tours and events along the historic Old Spanish Trail in South Colton. The initiative will rename local streets and install monuments to honor the trail’s role as a trade route and its complex past.  CityNewsGroup

  • San Bernardino County Library has launched its Bookmark Contest, open through Feb. 27, inviting K-12 students to design original bookmarks inspired by books and libraries (winners will be chosen by local branches with grand prize winners announced by the Board of Supervisors in spring).  San Bernardino City News Group

  • CUSM Health inaugurated its Neurology Clinic in Riverside on Feb. 6 at 4646 Brockton Ave, Suite 302+ the clinic offers appointments in 1–2 weeks for Parkinson’s, MS and other neurological conditions to help ease local doctor shortages.  Inland Empire Community News
  • NSAWMF launched its Jus Be Great™ initiative on Jan. 31 at San Manuel Stadium to offer interactive mental fitness activities for 150 youth, parents & coaches.   • Hector Miguel Martinez, a Canyon Springs High School senior (Cougars), earned Athlete of the Week honors after scoring two goals at Senior Night against Heritage High while maintaining a 3.2 GPA and working toward a dream of playing professional soccer.  CityNewsGroup
