- ➤ Last week, the City of Colton Youth Council toured the Agua Mansa Power Plant (2040 Agua Mansa Rd.) to learn about electric operations from Director Charles Berry, part of their monthly meetings. The high school students will complete two more sessions before a final recognition at City Council in April. Inland Empire Community News
- ➤ The National Volunteer Council on Freedmen Affairs in partnership with the Kaleidoscope Global Network will host the 3rd Annual Reparations Summit & Candidate Forum today at Loveland Church in Fontana from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Community leaders and candidates will engage in a forum to discuss restorative justice. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students at Garcia Elementary sharpened their minds through Rialto USD's after-school chess program that ended with a district Chess Masters tournament where 20 students competed. The program helped students build focus, strategy and confidence + strengthened their classroom skills. Inland Empire Community News
- ➤ On Feb. 5, over 30 students from local high schools attended Civics Day with Redlands USD, touring facilities and shadowing board members. They held a mock meeting to debate a cell phone policy and a four-day week — gaining hands-on experience in local government. Inland Empire Community News
