COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Yucaipa Regional Park offers visitors abundant wildlife, prime spots for birdwatching, fishing on three lakes, and trails for walking and biking, plus camping and a summer swim complex with water slides. The park provides green spaces for sports and shelters for large groups — a local outdoor retreat.  San Bernardino County
  • After severe floods in the late 1930s led to construction of the Prado Dam, community efforts secured funding for a 400-acre park that opened on July 2, 1976. The park in Chino now offers fishing, camping and a golf course + trails for outdoor fun.  San Bernardino County

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Feb. 12, the county public health department secured a five-year reaccreditation from the Public Health Accreditation Board, reaffirming its commitment to quality and continuous improvement after a rigorous virtual review on Dec. 15, 2025.  San Bernardino County
  • San Bernardino County Child Support Services is now offering webcam appointments at Transitional Assistance offices in Twentynine Palms, Barstow, Yucca Valley, Needles & Adelanto to help families access support more easily. The service is available during regular business hours to eliminate the need to travel.  San Bernardino County
  • Eligible individuals and families (including foster youth) can call 877-410-8829 to schedule free tax preparation and e-filing services provided by the county in partnership with the IRS before the April 15 deadline.  San Bernardino County
  • On Feb. 11, 2026, the Public Defender’s Mobile Defense Program brought free legal help to residents at the Joshua Tree Community Resource Fair, with 133 people receiving assistance in virtual court access and record clearing. County agencies provided health services + behavioral support onsite, expanding local access to vital resources.  San Bernardino County
  • On Feb. 23, San Bernardino County hosted a CARE Act site visit with local and state partners to review progress in bridging behavioral health and the judicial system (via RBEST) while expanding access to treatment and housing support for vulnerable residents.  San Bernardino County

HEALTH NEWS

  • San Bernardino County Animal Care is highlighting National Spay and Neuter Awareness Month to curb pet overpopulation by hosting free spay and neuter events and offering financial help through the Animal Sterilization Assistance Program plus trap-neuter-vaccinate-return efforts.  San Bernardino County

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Airbud is a playful one-year-old Shepherd mix available for adoption at Devore Animal Shelter today, with free qualifying adoptions covering spay and neuter, a microchip and vaccinations + a 30-day complimentary pet insurance offer.
