  • San Bernardino County will host the 27th annual Shine a Light on Child Abuse Prevention Awards ceremony on Thursday, Apr. 2 at DoubleTree Hotel Ontario at 222 N. Vineyard Ave., honoring 18 honorees and a Lifetime Advocate renamed for Kent Paxton. Tickets are on sale now.  San Bernardino County

CULTURE NEWS

  • San Bernardino County’s Mojave National Preserve holds California’s oldest dinosaur footprints (discovered in 1950 near Mountain Pass) and spans 1.6 million acres rich with history from ancient Chemehuevi settlements to WWII-era mining at the Vulcan Mine.  San Bernardino County

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Local youth will be able to apply for the SPARK Youth Employment Program starting March 16; only the first 800 applications will be accepted. Interested candidates should complete their profiles early (applications are available through county channels).  San Bernardino County

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • San Bernardino County celebrates Women's History Month by spotlighting Deputy Director Melanie Eustice and Motor Pool Assistant Linette Cummings at Fleet Management. They are recognized for leading operational shifts and inspiring future public service careers.  San Bernardino County
  • The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department announced increased patrols at places of worship and cultural centers in response to tensions in the Middle East. Officials say there are no known threats locally and urge residents to report any suspicious activity.  San Bernardino County

HEALTH NEWS

  • Arrowhead Regional Medical Center announced the appointment of Carlos Prieto as its new chief operating and strategy officer today; he will lead efforts to streamline operations and expand patient care after serving as acting COO since November 2025.  San Bernardino County
  • San Bernardino County is inviting community input on its new Behavioral Health Services Act Integrated Plan for Fiscal Years 2026 to 2029 to strengthen behavioral health services. Community members may review the draft plan and share feedback by March 30 and attend a public hearing on April 2 at noon (850 E. Foothill Blvd., Room F120, Rialto).  San Bernardino County

  • Mack is a friendly two-year-old Shepherd mix available for adoption at the Devore Animal Shelter in San Bernardino County. Meet-and-greet sessions are held regularly and adoptions are free for qualifying pets + include spaying/neutering, microchipping, and vaccinations.  San Bernardino County
