  • The National Orange Show Fair Art Exhibit returns from April 15–19 at the Orange Pavilion to celebrate citrus heritage & showcase local artists with over 100 works on display, including student art entries and awards for both citrus-inspired and open categories.  Inland Empire Community News
  • Yugo Shokunin, a Japanese fusion restaurant serving matcha ramen, katsu fries and karaage, opened in February at the Redlands Public Market at 330 Third St, operating daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. + Chef Daniel Kim and partner Kevin Seo bring local flavors to a casual dining experience.  Inland Empire Community News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • FUSD and Supervisor Jesse Armendarez announced a $418,000 investment to expand CENTEGIX CrisisAlert at all district schools following a successful pilot at four sites. The wearable system will deliver real-time location data to school police and first responders to improve emergency response.  Fontana Herald News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sergeant First Class Kareem Blackwood directs the Fontana Army Recruiting Office with a strong commitment to listening and offering clear choices for new applicants. He values community input (using tips from senior leaders) and plans to retire in four years while pursuing a master’s in health care.  Fontana Herald News
  • The Fontana Planning Commission approved the plan for a truck tire repair facility – a 3,431 sqft building with an office and two service bays – on Boyle Avenue in the Southwest Industrial Park area. B and K Road Service will complete required improvements off site including driveways and landscaping.  Fontana Herald News

HEALTH NEWS

  • The California Department of Public Health + West Coast Health Alliance are urging residents to update their MMR vaccines amid rising measles cases in San Bernardino and neighboring counties; officials advise checking digital vaccine records before travel or crowded events.  Fontana Herald News
  • Kaiser Permanente San Bernardino County urges residents to get screened during Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month so early detection can help prevent advanced cancer; Dr. Timothy Jenkins advises adults 45+ to discuss screening options, including at-home FIT and colonoscopy, with their doctor.  Fontana Herald News
  • Arrowhead Regional Medical Center announced the appointment of Carlos Prieto as its new chief operating and strategy officer. He will oversee daily operations (having served as acting COO since November 2025) and expand patient access to grow ARMC's advanced care for the Inland Empire.  Fontana Herald News
