  • Veterans and supporters from across Southern California will gather on May 3 at March Veterans Village at March Air Reserve Base for the annual Steps for Vets event, which will feature an 5K walk/run starting at 8:00 a.m.—registration begins at 7:00 a.m. as the event also offers booths, food vendors, and activities to honor military service and prevent veteran homelessness.  CityNewsGroup

  • Colton High School opened its new 9,059-square-foot Champs Culinary Building on April 22 to boost its career technical education program.   • Crafton Hills College will graduate its first group of respiratory therapy students on May 22, marking a big moment for the school and local healthcare—these students started the program in January 2024. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Today, Kaiser Permanente opened the largest hospital renewable microgrid in the U.S. at the Ontario Medical Center in Southern California—adding 2MW of solar power, a 1MW fuel cell, and 9MWh of battery storage to run emergency power for 10 hours. The system will lower energy costs and avoid about 650 metric tons of carbon dioxide a year—helping the hospital and community move toward cleaner energy.  Inland Empire Community News
