EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ San Andreas High in the San Bernardino City Unified School District has been named a 2025 Model Continuation High School by the California Department of Education and the California Continuation Education Association Plus. The school has earned the honor before in 2017 and 2021 and now offers flexible schedules and career pathways in business & technology and health sciences—efforts that help students stay on track for graduation. - ➤ Rialto High School named Randy Gomez Francisco as Valedictorian and Emily J. Martinez as Salutatorian for the Class of 2025 during a surprise ceremony in April. Gomez Francisco, with a 4.69 GPA, will attend UCLA for Aerospace Engineering — his hard work paying off — while Martinez, who earned a 4.62 GPA and was accepted at several universities, is set to lead graduation on Sunday, June 1 at Toyota Arena. - ➤ On May 5, more than 100 students from San Bernardino County Community Schools became published authors during the 'Beyond the Books' event at the Dorothy Ingham Learning Center.
