San Bernardino Valley College awarded 825 scholarships worth $800,000 to 577 students at its ceremony on May 6 in its historic Auditorium — the highest amount ever given in one year.

Community leaders and donors joined officials including County Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. and President Dr. Gilbert Contreras — who stressed that the awards help reduce financial barriers and support student success.
