Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 28th of July.
Good morning, San Bernardino.
🎓 Education
CSUSB has named S. Terri Gomez as its new president—an Inland Empire native who led initiatives at Cal Poly Pomona.
She will begin her role on Aug. 3.
The San Bernardino Symphony will hold youth orchestra auditions for musicians ages 11 to 18 from Aug.
19 through Aug. 31, requiring online sign-ups and musical preparation; accepted students will then attend an orientation on Sept. 13 and begin Sunday rehearsals on Sept. 20.
🌲 Environment
Local gardeners in Inland Empire are urged to watch for signs of overwatering like yellowing leaves, drooping plants and root rot in our warm, semi-arid climate.
Experts recommend checking soil moisture before watering to conserve water and keep plants healthy.
📰 Finance
California law requires all drivers have liability coverage (minimum limits are $15,000 for one person, $30,000 for multiple injuries, and $5,000 for damage) to legally drive; many Inland Empire drivers opt for extra collision and comprehensive protection to better safeguard their finances.
