  • Majors Isias and Almeda Braga celebrated their retirement at Bear Springs Event Center on July 30th as local dignitaries including Mayor Helen Tran and Salvation Army officers honored their long service.   • San Bernardino’s historic Mt. Vernon Bridge will reopen on Aug. 23 after nearly five years of closure, restoring a key connection between the city’s west side communities.
