Leaders held the State of the Inland Empire Entrepreneurship Address & Awards on August 23 at Entrepreneur High School to stress that small businesses need better access to capital and information to grow—BBOP Academy set up workshops to help local entrepreneurs expand their ventures. The event aimed to boost the local economy by connecting business owners with tools and mentorship for long-term success.

ZM Trucks opened its new U.S. headquarters and assembly facility in Fontana on August 28—debuting its zero-emission ZM8 truck amid EV policy uncertainty.

The facility spans 9.67 acres with a 210,000-square-foot factory floor and now houses the firm’s regional headquarters.

San Bernardino Valley College kicked off its 100th anniversary today with a Centennial Opening Ceremony that featured gonfalons, a drumline, a drill team and mascot Blue — the college also launched its Valley Up!

Initiative and Centennial Giving Challenge to boost student scholarships and programs.

San Bernardino Public Library has partnered with Inland Counties Legal Services to launch Lawyers in the Library on September 9—providing free legal aid for housing, public benefits, expungements and more for local residents.

Attorneys will be available from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. every second Tuesday at Feldheym Central Library located at 555 W. 6th Street.

On August 23, 2025, the Inland Regional Center and Autism Society Inland Empire held a Blue Envelope Program training at their San Bernardino campus, drawing over 200 participants—first responders and community members with disabilities who engaged in hands-on scenarios to boost communication and safety. The event was funded by LACC support from the Department of Developmental Services and featured law enforcement and representatives from Congresswoman Norma Torres’ office discussing plans to expand the inclusive public safety model.

Cedar House secured a $30 million grant to build a two-story addition with 70 new beds—construction will begin in 2026 to ease long waitlists for addiction treatment in San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

The center in Bloomington uses group therapy and one-on-one counseling to help people recover.
