The first Community Earp Day event took place Saturday morning along the Paseo in downtown Colton as over 175 local residents gathered in western attire for a free pancake breakfast at 9:00 a.m. and a live gold-panning demonstration led by Tumbleweed Jim Strohm — the event celebrated Colton's history and united neighborhood organizations.

During Hunger Action Month in September, Feeding America Riverside — San Bernardino is calling on local residents to donate food, funds, or time to help end hunger.

The group said food insecurity is high in San Bernardino County and that cuts to SNAP and Medicaid will soon make meals harder to get for many neighbors.

Major Adam Morales of the Salvation Army said that the red kettle tradition began in 1891 when Captain Joseph McFee set up a kettle at Oakland Ferry Landing — an idea he brought from Liverpool — to raise funds for Christmas meals.

The Citadel will ring silver bells from Nov. 20 through Christmas Eve and invites local volunteers to help support donations.

Today, Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino (FARSB) delivered two truckloads of relief with 2,100 food boxes and 467 gallons of water to Santa Rosa Indian Health Clinic for evacuees hurt by the Rosa Fire that burned over 120 acres in Riverside County.

The donation was arranged with the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) to help families facing evacuations and power outages.

Fontana High School’s Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps earned a Naval Honor School designation for its community service, leadership, and academics, marking its sixth straight year of recognition in its 33-year history — the cadets also earned nearly $1.15 million in scholarships and completed 5,859 hours of community service during 2024-25.

Today, Eastern Municipal Water District launched its new Landscapes for Business and Beyond website and application portal to help commercial, industrial, and institutional customers access water-saving programs and rebates — the portal also offers real-time tracking, tailored resources, and a mobile-friendly design to support water conservation compliance.

Phillip is a 16-year-old childhood cancer survivor who now advocates for more pediatric research after being diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma at age 9.

His family received coordinated care from Kaiser Permanente in Anaheim, Fontana, and Los Angeles—an effort that helped save his life.
