- ➤ Fontana Police Department is observing Pedestrian Safety Month and tells drivers to slow down and watch for pedestrians to prevent crashes. Officials plan traffic safety operations this month—focusing on speeding, illegal turns and failing to yield. Fontana Herald News
- ➤ Fontana Planning Commission held a public hearing and unanimously approved a project to build a new medical complex on 16.4 acres at the northwest corner of South Highland Avenue and San Sevaine Road; the complex will include two four-story buildings with a café, pharmacy, urgent care, radiology suite and offices, landscaped parking and a healing garden — groundbreaking may begin within eight to 12 months to address local needs. A plan for a 166,985 square-foot warehouse facility will be re-noticed on Oct 7. Fontana Herald News

- ➤ Dignity Health at St. Bernardine Medical Center says prostate cancer is highly treatable when found early and urges men, especially those over 50 or with a family history, to get regular PSA tests and digital rectal exams.
