- ➤ San Bernardino’s Feldheym Central Library will mark its 40th anniversary on Monday, September 29 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.—the event will feature history displays, live music by the San Bernardino Symphony Youth Orchestra, local food vendors, and a preview of the upcoming Garner Holt Animakerspace. - ➤ More than 1,300 leaders gathered today at the State of the County event to share plans for a $270M mining revival, new workforce training centers and tech upgrades that will boost tourism and manufacturing—student leaders and county officials outlined projects including the revival of a historic mine and the opening of a new training center. - ➤ Kaiser High School's String Orchestra and Wind Ensemble will perform at Carnegie Hall in New York at the National Band and Orchestra Festival in April 2026—making them the second Fontana Unified school to be invited as they build on their history of national shows. Inland Empire Community News
- ➤ Almost 500 students at Mt. Vernon Elementary experienced a soccer camp on Sept. 18 led by LA Galaxy that taught new skills and built team spirit — the camp was made possible by support from the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation. Students said the event inspired them to work hard and dream big on and off the field. Inland Empire Community News
- ➤ Rialto Unified School District opened National Hispanic Heritage Month with assemblies at Simpson and Fitzgerald Elementary that featured bilingual music performances and live storytelling to highlight cultural inclusion. The district will host ¡Viva la Fiesta! at Jerry Eaves Park on September 27 — offering live performances, guest speakers, and family activities for the community. Inland Empire Community News

- ➤ The Inland Valley Development Agency canceled its airport project today—after residents sued over health, housing and environmental risks—and said it will work with the community on future plans. Inland Empire Community News
- ➤ Fontana School Police launched the Blue Envelope Program to build trust and improve safety with students and families with disabilities—Inland Regional Center and California Department of Developmental Services helped set up the program with tools and training for effective school interactions.
