- ➤ Grayson is a friendly three-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix at the Devore Animal Shelter who loves belly rubs, brushing sessions, and walks on a leash. He is available for meet-and-greets and adoption, which includes spaying or neutering, a microchip, and vaccinations. San Bernardino County
- ➤ First 5 San Bernardino and the San Bernardino County Museum will host the Gift a Kid a Book Community Fair on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the museum in Redlands where families can enjoy free museum admission, book giveaways, storytime sessions, and live entertainment rain or shine. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Upland was first part of the Ontario Model Colony founded by the Chaffey brothers and later saw local residents petition for incorporation when Ontario moved to annex nearby areas. Voters approved incorporation on May 5, 1906 (183 in favor and 19 opposed), and Upland has grown to house over 79,000 people. San Bernardino County
- ➤ Since 1941, the Chaffey Community Museum of Art in Ontario has shared visual art with Southern California residents by evolving from an art association into a regional museum that offers public access to fine art and supports local artists. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The County Library now offers free access to Blinkist—a digital tool that provides 15-minute summaries of non-fiction books and podcasts—to library cardholders beginning this month. Residents without a library card can visit a branch to sign up and explore thousands of titles. San Bernardino County
- ➤ San Bernardino City Unified School District opened the new Páxam Páxam Welcome Center on October 29 to help families with school enrollment and support services near the Board of Education building. The event featured student performances and a ribbon-cutting ceremony — showing the district's promise to support every family — and the center now offers help in English and Spanish. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The National Weather Service expects rain, cold temperatures, and mountain snow from tonight through the weekend, and county crews have pre-staged equipment—workers cleared debris in flood-prone areas to keep flood control systems ready. The county will start snowplow operations when snow reaches two inches so roads remain clear for emergency access. San Bernardino County

- ➤ San Bernardino County Child Support Services is offering virtual appointments via webcam at Transitional Assistance offices in Twentynine Palms, Barstow, Yucca Valley, Needles and Adelanto during regular business hours—allowing child support customers to connect without traveling far. - ➤ The Behavioral Health Commission will host the Winter Wonderland Tea on December 4 from 9 a.m. to noon at the DoubleTree San Bernardino—285 E. Hospitality Ln to honor dedicated staff and partners who support community wellness. Attendees will gather to share gratitude and celebrate progress in behavioral health care. San Bernardino County
