COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley and Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation will hold the Winter Wonderland Walk & Santa Paws Pet Photos on Saturday, November 22 at 374 W. Orange Show Road, where families, with or without their pets, can join a pet parade, vendor village, and Santa photo session with digital files available for $20. Additional activities include pet contests, raffles, and vendor giveaways— all proceeds will support the society’s cruelty investigation and humane education programs.  Inland Empire Community News
  • On November 8, the Aristrong Foundation hosted a car show, concert and kickball tournament at Colton High School’s athletic fields – the event raised funds for pediatric cancer research in memory of Ari Villalobos – and awarded scholarships to local high school students. Community members enjoyed food vendors, raffle draws and live music that helped build strong support for children with cancer.  Inland Empire Community News
  • Sen. Reyes honored 30 young leaders at her 9th Annual 30 Under 30 Awards on November 13, including IE Labor’s Alicia Aguayo, Colton PD’s Nilda Campos, and KVCR’s Justin Verduzco. CULTURE NEWS

  • The Desert Empire Filmmaker Foundation, led by Cindy and Casey Ball, is working to help local filmmakers build an indie film industry in the Inland Empire that rivals Hollywood. The nonprofit is forming partnerships, hosting outreach events, and planning DEFF Fest to boost local talent + attract industry support.  Inland Empire Community News
  • On Nov. 14, the Garcia Center for the Arts held its 2nd annual gala in the rain to mark 10 years of arts advocacy and honor Dotti Garcia by naming the art gallery after her — center leaders detailed plans to add more staff and upgrade the building while community figures and local artists showed strong support for future programs through 2026.  Inland Empire Community News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Redlands Unified’s BRIDGE Adult Transition Program wins the 2025 Golden Bell Award for its new approach in helping young adults with disabilities learn job skills—students gain hands-on training in a student-run restaurant and garden center at two high schools. The program prepares students for independent living through both classroom instruction and real-world experiences.  Inland Empire Community News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Victor Valley College football etched its name into local sports history with a 38—23 win over Santa Monica College in the American Division Bowl game as a second-half surge led by quarterback Seth Burbine, running back Carlos Amplayo, and receiver Darren Gandy turned the contest around.  Inland Empire Community News
